Who are Jack & Sandy?!

My name is Gemma and I'm the mum of Jack & Sandy. Literally. They are my two boys, and whilst they run the show at home, they are a little young to be working in a chocolate kitchen.  I hope one day they will help to create the chocolates, rather than just eat them!

After studying English and Linguistics at Edinburgh University I left with my Masters degree under my arm, off to conquer the world. I always thought I would head into journalism, or even speech therapy at one point.

But instead, I landed a job managing a beautiful little chocolate shop in Edinburgh. It was a dreamy little shop. In the dark, cold Edinburgh days, the lights inside beamed out delicious sweetness. The windows would literally fog up from customers sitting inside, huddling around their hot chocolates and nattering away as the sun went down (at 4pm!)

I cannot express just how much I loved  that experience, but, in time, I left in search of new challenges and the warmth of the sun- and found my new life in Sydney. Twenty years later, I'm now very much settled on Sydney's Northern Beaches with my beautiful family, but longed to recreate those treasured memories with my own twist.

Jack and Sandy's is a life long dream of mine, and I'm so excited to bring it to life.  It's so fulfilling watching people enjoy the chocolates I create. If you smile, I smile.

Know that when you are eating a Jack and Sandy's chocolate, it has been made with the best quality ingredients I can source, using the traditional tempering on marble technique.

Whilst my focus is on the end product, it's important to not forget where the chocolate has come from, and the farmers and communities who have grown and harvested it. I am committed to using only the best, sustainable ingredients and using packaging that is either fully recyclable or biodegradable.

The chocolate I use is:

Gluten Free

All dark chocolate is dairy free

No palm oil used at all

100% cocoa butter

Natural vanilla (not vanillin which is just an artificial flavour)

Sustainable

Wherever I can I use biodegradable or recyclable packaging. There are a few products where I haven't been successful in sourcing sustainable packaging yet, but I'm working on it.

So welcome to Jack & Sandy's! It's a pleasure having you here.
